Choosing the right base location in Palworld can make or break your playthrough. A good base has access to essential resources, flat building space, and natural defenses. In Palworld, you can build up to 3 bases (more with world settings), so planning your base locations strategically is important.

1. Starting Base: Plateau of Beginnings

Coordinates: (60, 470)
Best for: Early game, first base
Resources: Stone, Wood, Fiber, Paldium, Berries

The starter area is a great first base location. It has plenty of flat ground, abundant basic resources, and easy access to the Rayne Syndicate Tower. You will quickly outgrow this location, but it is perfect for the first 20 levels.

❌ Cons: Limited ore nodes, no coal or sulfur nearby

2. Mining Base: Sealed Realm of the Frozen Guardian

Coordinates: (185, -50)
Best for: Ore and coal mining
Resources: Ore, Coal, Stone

This is one of the best mining locations in the game. The area has multiple large ore deposits and coal nodes close together. Set up a base here with Digtoise and Astegon to automate ore and coal production.

❌ Cons: Cold biome — Pals need cold resistance, some uneven terrain

3. Farming Base: Grassy Beaches

Coordinates: (-300, 300)
Best for: Food production, ranching, breeding

The Grassy Beaches area is ideal for farming and breeding operations. It has large flat areas, nearby water sources, and a temperate climate. Build your Breeding Farm and crop plantation here.

4. Endgame Base: Mount Obsidian Foothills

Coordinates: (-600, -450)
Best for: Endgame operations, sulfur, quartz
Resources: Sulfur, Ore, Quartz, Heat-resistant

This location near the volcano provides access to sulfur (essential for gunpowder and ammunition) and quartz. It is a hot area, so build with fire-resistant materials.

5. Sakurajima Base: Blooming Lake

The Sakurajima island has unique resources including Chromite, which is needed for endgame equipment. This base gives you access to all the new content in the Sakurajima update.

Base Building Tips

Use all 3 base slots: Dedicate one base to mining, one to farming/breeding, and one to your main base with crafting and storage.
Build near fast travel points: This saves time moving between bases. You can fast travel with items in your inventory.
Defend your base: Build walls, traps, and defense platforms. Higher-level bases attract stronger raid attacks.
Keep it flat: Uneven terrain causes Pals to get stuck. Use foundations to create flat surfaces.
Leave room for expansion: Endgame bases need space for Assembly Lines, Electric Furnaces, and other large structures.
