Legendary Pal Locations Guide
Published: August 16, 2026 ยท Updated: August 16, 2026
Legendary Pals are the rarest and most powerful creatures in Palworld. Each Legendary Pal has a fixed spawn location on the map, and they only spawn once per playthrough at that location. This guide covers every Legendary Pal's location, recommended level, weakness, and capture strategy.
๐ Jetragon (Dragon)
Recommended Level: 50
Location: Volcanic Biome โ Mount Obsidian (Southwest of the map)
Element: Dragon
Jetragon is the fastest flying mount in the game and one of the most powerful Dragon-type Pals. It patrols the lava fields of Mount Obsidian, flying in a wide loop.
- Weakness: Ice-type attacks
- Best Pals to bring: Frostallion, Vanwyrm, Ice-type Pals
- Weapon: Rocket Launcher or Legendary Assault Rifle
- Strategy: Jetragon has high HP and deals massive Dragon-type damage. Use a flying mount to chase it in the air. Bring plenty of Legendary Spheres (Ultimate Spheres recommended). Aim for its head for extra damage. Jetragon can be knocked out of the sky with well-timed Rocket Launcher shots.
- Partner Skill: "Aerial Missile" โ Chases enemies while mounted and attacks with homing missiles.
โ๏ธ Frostallion (Ice)
Recommended Level: 50
Location: Snowy Biome โ Frozen Mountains (Northeast of the map)
Element: Ice
Frostallion is a majestic Ice-type Legendary Pal that roams the highest peaks of the Frozen Mountains. It is surrounded by blizzard conditions that deal cold damage over time.
- Weakness: Fire-type attacks
- Best Pals to bring: Jormuntide Ignis, Ragnahawk, Fire-type Pals
- Equipment: Cold-resistant armor (at least 2 layers of heat undershirt alternative)
- Strategy: Prepare for the environment โ the area is freezing cold. Bring Anti-freeze potions or the best cold-resistant armor you can craft. Frostallion uses ice beam and area-of-effect ice storms. Stay close to avoid its ranged attacks and use Fire-type Pals to counter its ice shield.
- Partner Skill: "Ice Steed" โ Mount that can double jump and glides over water.
โ๏ธ Paladius (Neutral)
Recommended Level: 50
Location: Desert Biome โ Dunes (Center-East of the map)
Element: Neutral
Paladius is a neutral-type Legendary Pal that spawns in the deep desert. It patrols alongside several smaller Paladius-like creatures.
- Weakness: Dark-type attacks
- Best Pals to bring: Shadowbeak, Necromus, Dark-type Pals
- Strategy: Paladius is fast and aggressive. It uses charge attacks and area-of-effect ground slams. The best approach is to use a Dark-type Pal to deal super-effective damage while you attack from horseback or a flying mount. Paladius has a predictable attack pattern โ it charges, pauses, then slams. Attack during the pause.
- Note: Paladius and Necromus spawn near each other in the same desert region. Be careful not to aggro both at once.
๐ Necromus (Dark)
Recommended Level: 50
Location: Desert Biome โ Dunes (Center-East of the map, near Paladius)
Element: Dark
Necromus is the Dark-type counterpart to Paladius. It spawns in the same desert region and is often found patrolling near Paladius.
- Weakness: Dragon-type attacks
- Best Pals to bring: Jetragon, Dragon-type Pals
- Strategy: Necromus is faster than Paladius but has lower defense. It uses quick dash attacks and dark projectiles. The key is to pin it down with Dragon-type attacks. If you are trying to catch both Paladius and Necromus, separate them by kiting one away from the other before engaging.
- Partner Skill: "Dark Knight" โ Mount that increases attack power while riding.
๐ Frostallion Noct (Dark Variant)
Recommended Level: 50
Location: Same as Frostallion โ spawns at night in the Frozen Mountains
Element: Dark
Frostallion Noct is a dark variant of Frostallion that only appears at night. It has the same spawn location but different elemental typing.
- Weakness: Dragon-type attacks
- Strategy: Same location as Frostallion, but you must arrive at night (in-game time). It has the same mechanics but uses Dark-type attacks instead of Ice. Bring Dragon-type Pals.
๐ก๏ธ Preparation Tips for Legendary Hunts
- Stock up on Legendary Spheres: You will need at least 20-30 for each Legendary Pal. Their capture rate is extremely low.
- Bring healing items: Legendary Pals hit hard. Bring 20+ high-quality healing potions and revival items.
- Use Lifmunk Effigies: Increase your capture power by collecting Lifmunk Effigies and offering them to the Statue of Power. Max capture power is highly recommended.
- Save before engaging: These encounters are one-per-save-file. If you accidentally kill the Legendary Pal, reload your save.
- Target the head: Headshots deal extra damage and increase capture chance when the Pal is low HP.
